Dr. David W. Muris, Optometrist, co-author of "Improve Your Vision Without Glasses or Contact Lenses" by Simon & Schuster, is the founder of Sacramento Visioncare Optometric Center. He graduated from Southern California College of Optometry in 1965, and after practicing optometry as an officer in the Air Force, he moved to the Sacramento area in 1970. Shortly thereafter he developed Preventics® (a dynamic personalized program of vision improvement without surgery). Then in 1996, he began offering a cognitive vision processing program to help children and adults with learning and related vision processing problems. Dr. Muris has also obtained his Therapeutic license.

Dr. Muris is Past President of the Sacramento Valley Optometric Association; Past Regional Chairman of the Optometric Extension Program; Past Chairman of the Yolo County Health Plan. Memberships: California Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and Optometric Extension Program.
